Level 3 – Hard
If your representative is a republican, organize a drop in visit to their office. See MoveOn’s guide, but here’s the short of it:
- Find your rep’s office address here.
- Organize your group of family and friends.
- Gather supplies (waters, snacks), make posters and signs
- Drop in together
- Your rep might not be in. If that’s the case, try to meet with the most senior staff member available.
- Ask Hard Questions. For example:
- This bill will undoubtedly cut healthcare for 16 million people. Why are you gutting healthcare when we need to be expanding it and making it more affordable?
- This bill disproportionately gives tax cuts to the ultra wealthy and takes away healthcare from over 16mill people in exchange. Why aren’t you prioritizing the interests of the people and ensuring the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes?
- Film the interaction and post on social media.
- Keep under 50 seconds and shoot vertically.
- “Representative [NAME] your vote could cut healthcare for me and my family. Consider the millions of people like me before you vote on this bill.”
