Level 1 – Easy

Arm yourself with knowledge so you can refute lies and spread real information. Here’s a start:

Level 1 – Easy

Calling your representative is one of the most important actions you can take for this bill. 5Calls makes this easy, providing phone numbers and a script specific to each issue.

If leaving a voicemail, remember to leave your address so that your call is counted properly.

Level 2 – Medium

If your rep is a democrat, you can better use your time phone banking.

Join MoveOn, Working Families Power, Indivisible, Community Change Action, and Public Citizen for a national phone bank to Medicaid recipients urging them to call their Reps ahead of the upcoming budget vote to stop the cuts and save Medicaid!

Phone Bank with MoveOn on June 2 from 6PM to 8PM EDT.

Level 3 – Hard

If your representative is a republican, organize a drop in visit to their office. See MoveOn’s guide, but here’s the short of it:

  • Find your rep’s office address here.
  • Organize your group of family and friends.
  • Gather supplies (waters, snacks), make posters and signs
  • Drop in together
    • Your rep might not be in. If that’s the case, try to meet with the most senior staff member available.
  • Ask Hard Questions. For example:
    • This bill will undoubtedly cut healthcare for 16 million people. Why are you gutting healthcare when we need to be expanding it and making it more affordable?
    • This bill disproportionately gives tax cuts to the ultra wealthy and takes away healthcare from over 16mill people in exchange. Why aren’t you prioritizing the interests of the people and ensuring the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes?
  • Film the interaction and post on social media.
    • Keep under 50 seconds and shoot vertically.
    • “Representative [NAME] your vote could cut healthcare for me and my family. Consider the millions of people like me before you vote on this bill.”
